Edison/DPS Reminders

February Conferences - Please join us for Student-led Conferences on February 26 between 3:45-7:45 PM. Teachers will be contacting caregivers of students who need support academically, socially or with work habits to set up individual conferences with teachers. If caregivers wish to have an individual conference, please contact your child’s teacher to set it up. Students who do not need individual conferences will lead student-led conferences with their caregivers to share what they are learning in school and their personal goals. Please watch for communication from teachers regarding how this will occur virtually.

  • 3:45 to 5:45 open house for student-led conferences

  • 5:45 to 7:30 scheduled 1 on 1 conferences (as needed or requested)

  • Check out the Scholastic Bookfair in the auditorium - open before and after school on Feb 25 & 26

Night at the Edison Museum - March 26 from 3:45-5:00 PM - Cultural Food Night & Volunteer Sign-Up - Join us for a fun evening celebrating the rich traditions that make our school community unique. We invite parents to bring a sampling-size dish that is special to your family or culture to share.

Edison's Passions Day will be on Friday, March 27th during the school day. Passions Day is an annual event where we invite family and community members to present their passion to our students. Our theme will be  “Pursuing passions help us connect people with respect and compassion.” During the school day on March 27th community members will present a 30 minute presentation/activity. Classes of students will rotate to different rooms throughout the day (as a class) and listen to various presenters. Examples from the past include: pilots, meteorology, marching band, forensic science, yoga, beekeeper, tap dancing, etc.!

Community Activities for Students & Families:

  • Local families and area teachers are invited to join us for North High School’s Community STEAM Night on February 24th from 4:30-6:30 💜🔬💛. The evening will include hands-on activities and a celebration of our school. Come explore different high school courses, engage in mini science experiments, enjoy pizza, and win prizes.

  • Calling All Creative Writers! - Join me for a Creative Writing Summer Camp designed for students in the 3rd–5th grades! This camp is for kids who like to write—messy handwriting? No problem. Grades? Don’t matter. But if writing sounds like a chore, this probably isn’t the camp for you.  Dates: July 13–17, Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Location: TBD (likely Woodbury Library, depending on group size), Cost: $250 for the week.   • North Denver Little League Registration Now Open! Boys and girls ages 4–12 are welcome — all skill levels encouraged. Evaluations for Minors and Majors will be held on March 14, practices begin March 22, and Opening Day is April 11. Edison Spirit Rock - Want to add a personal touch and make someone’s week unforgettable? Reserve one of our Spirit Rocks today! Choose your desired month(s) and view available weeks for painting. We have two Spirit Rocks available for rental, one on the 1st-5th grade playground and one on the kindergarten/ECE playground. You get to paint your own personal message (simply paint over the previous week’s design!) Spirit Rocks are available for rental Monday-Friday and painting will occur on the weekends.

Edison CARES – Community Service 2025–2026: The PTA will be organizing service projects for families to get involved and give back to our community and school. Have an idea? Email acjones11@gmail.com

  • March 16-20 - Spring Food Drive. Nearby food pantries and family assistance orgs communicated there is a spring need for supplies, too. We will host another week long food drive for Bienvenidos Food Bank.

  • April 22 - Earth Day clean up! Families will gather at Edison and nearby parks to clean up our wonderful shared space. More information to come.

  • Want to Get Involved? The PTA often needs an extra set of hands—sometimes at the last minute. If you have a flexible schedule, join our “on-call” volunteer list!
