This information is intended to support families with monitoring their student’s attendance, as strong school attendance is necessary for academic growth and educational success. If your family is in need of support regarding student attendance, please reach out to the school. 2026 DPS Summer Camps -- Extended Learning and Community Schools (ELCS) - DPS’s Extended Learning and Community Schools (ELCS) 2026 Summer Camp registration opens on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 6 a.m. Explore the ELCS Summer Camp website for more information and how to register for Discovery Link, Little Links, ELCSports and ELCS Enrichment Summer Camps. For Discovery Link and ELCS Sports and Enrichment info and registration, click here. The Northwest Community Hub offers English classes for parents starting January 20, 2026. They also offer GED and citizenship classes and career services.
The NW Community Hub is proud to partner with the Denver Public Library to bring LENA Start to our community! We invite families with children ages 0–3 to join us for this engaging program focused on early literacy and communication. Classes start January 21 so we recommend signing up today. |
Reminders School Choice - All families of ECE and 5th grade students, as well as families interested in moving schools for the 2026-27 school year, please be aware of the school choice window. The school choice application period is December 2 through January 20. The following groups of students must submit a Choice application for the 2026-2027 school year:
Join the PTA Board – Get Involved - The PTA is looking for new parents to join our board. Many current board members will be serving their final year next year, and we would love to bring in new families to shadow these roles, with the possibility of stepping into board positions for the 2027–2028 school year. This is a no-pressure opportunity and a great way to get involved, learn how the PTA operates, and support our school community. If you have ever been curious about helping behind the scenes, this is a wonderful place to start. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact: Edison PTA President ptaedisondenver@gmail.com Edison's Passions Day will be on Friday, March 27th during the school day. Passions Day is an annual event where we invite family and community members to present their passion to our students. Our theme will be “Pursuing passions help us connect people with respect and compassion.” During the school day on March 27th community members will present a 30 minute presentation/activity. Classes of students will rotate to different rooms throughout the day (as a class) and listen to various presenters. Examples from the past include: pilots, meteorology, marching band, forensic science, yoga, beekeeper, tap dancing, etc.!
Read-A-Thon 2025-26 We hope Edison students enjoyed participating in the Edison Read‑a‑Thon this year. Our Read-A-Thon concludes this Friday, January 9. Please be sure to return completed reading sheets to your child’s classroom teacher.
Community Opportunities Camperoni.com is a free website that helps parents find thousands of summer camp options that fit their family’s needs. Families can easily filter camps by location, price, whether financial aid or scholarships are offered, and much more—making the search process faster and less overwhelming. Camperoni is mom-owned and run, and it's free for both parents and camps. Highlands Micro School is now enrolling for their After School Program for the Spring Semester. Running every weekday from 3 - 6 p.m., we offer pick-up services straight from your child's teacher at Edison. Our program includes a spacious playground, mini-sized athletic field, art studio, large digging area, independent explore time, and pottery, yoga and art class options (M,T, W, Th). Edison Spirit Rock - Want to add a personal touch and make someone’s week unforgettable? Reserve one of our Spirit Rocks today! Choose your desired month(s) and view available weeks for painting. We have two Spirit Rocks available for rental, one on the 1st-5th grade playground and one on the kindergarten/ECE playground. You get to paint your own personal message (simply paint over the previous week’s design!) Spirit Rocks are available for rental Monday-Friday and painting will occur on the weekends.
