New Community Information:

  • Support our Community - As you may be aware, many families who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will see a substantial reduction in their benefits starting next month. For families in our community that utilize these benefits to make ends meet, this change will be deeply felt. It will force parents to make incredibly difficult choices between buying groceries and purchasing other essential household and hygiene necessities. With this impending reduction in benefits, we are anticipating a much greater need for basic supplies that SNAP does not cover. The Edison PTA is hoping to support Edison families, the Cheltenham School resource bank and the Bienvenidos Food Bank during the month of November. We would be incredibly grateful for donations to assist us with this effort. The items that are most needed—and most requested by families—are:

    • Click through to see examples of most needed items

    • Hygiene items: Toilet Paper, Shampoo & Conditioner, Body Wash, Hand Soap, Toothpaste

    • Cleaning items: Dish Soap, Dishwasher Detergent, Laundry Detergent

    • Non-perishable food

    • Additionally, gift cards in any denomination to local grocery stores like King Soopers and Safeway are immensely helpful. They provide our families with the flexibility to purchase fresh food or fulfill a specific, urgent need. (Please bring these to our office staff.)

Any contribution you could make would have a direct and immediate impact on our families, easing a heavy burden and showing them that they are not alone. A collection basket will be across from the main office Nov 3-20 before the PTA delivers items on Nov 21.
