New Community Information:

  • Fall Festival - Join us for our annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 24 from 3:30-5:30 on Edison’s parking lot and playground. Students may wear their costumes to school that day and after school (please no masks or fake blood or weapons). Caregivers must attend with their students. The festivities will begin at 3:30 with trunk-or-treat and fun games. We appreciate donations of prizes/treats, as well as volunteers (for each classroom trunk/game) to support this fun event. Please communicate with your student’s lead volunteer classroom caregiver to help decorate a vehicle/trunk or run a game. PTA will be selling tickets for $1 each for games & concessions.

  • Edison Dine Out Night at Lot 46 – Join us on Sunday, October 26, from 3–8 p.m. at Lot 46 for Edison’s Dine Out Night! A percentage of all sales will be donated back to Edison, so bring your family and friends and enjoy a night out while supporting our school.

  • Picture Retake Day is Wednesday, October 29 - Your student will get photographed if they were absent or not yet attending Edison on the original picture day (September 23), or if you’re dissatisfied with their original picture and would like a retake. If you want to order pictures ahead of time, come to the office for a flyer or go to mylifetouch.com and login or create an account using Picture Day ID EVTVMVWNR.

  • Support Edison While You Shop at King Soopers - Did you know you can give back to Edison every time you shop at King Soopers? It’s quick and free to set up:

    • Go to www.kingsoopers.com and sign in (or create an account).

    • Click “Community Rewards” in the menu.

    • Search Edison Elementary PTA (3350 Quitman St, Denver 80212) and click Enroll.

    • That’s it—every grocery trip helps our school!

Reminders:

  • Eagle Run - We’re so close to reaching our goal! Our target is $85,000, and we’re already at $73,000. If each family contributes just $20 more per student, we’ll fully fund our paras for next year. These incredible educators make such a meaningful difference in our classrooms—let’s get across the finish line together!

  • Edison PTA Book Club - The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt - Join us as we read The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. Our book discussion will be on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 8:45–10:00 a.m. in the Edison auditorium.

    • Enjoy treats generously donated by The Salty and Call Your Mother. Come for as long as you can—no need to finish the book to join the conversation! Please RSVP.

  • Please fill out a Free and Reduced Lunch Application - In 2022, voters approved Proposition FF creating the Healthy School Meals for All program to provide all Colorado students free breakfast and lunch.

    • While the program is successful, families are still encouraged to complete a Free & Reduced Price Meal application to help qualify districts for additional funding and potentially secure other benefits for their students.

    • Because participation has exceeded expectations, the program is facing a funding shortfall, leading state lawmakers to refer ballot questions to voters in November 2025 to secure more funding. If the measures don’t pass, cost-cutting measures would likely mean not all schools would get money to pay for free lunches for all.

    • We strongly encourage all families to apply for free and reduced lunch to be prepared in case the state-wide free lunch program does not continue in its current form.

  • Important Caregiver Sign-up Links and Surveys:

    • BESS Survey for parents/caregivers: The BESS survey is a social-emotional screening tool which, accompanied by other data, is used to drive decisions for students’ behavioral, social emotional and mental health needs and supports. Please complete the parent BESS survey for your student prior to October 31 at: https://review360connect.com/Prod/DenverPublicSchools/Parent/EnterStudentNumber
