New Community Information: Family-Teacher Conferences - Please sign up for a family-teacher conference on either October 8 or 9, between 3:45 and 7:45 PM. This is a great time to find out how your child(ren) is doing in school, celebrate success and set academic and work habit goals for your child. We strongly believe that teachers and caregivers must work together, as a team, to ensure the educational success of children. We value these opportunities to collaborate with you and are looking forward to our one-on-one conferences. Please watch for sign up forms coming from your child’s teacher. Scholastic Book Fair - Please stop by the book fair during family/teacher conferences! You will find all your favorite books to keep your students reading. The book fair will be open in the Edison Auditorium: Colorado Rapids Central Fall Skills Clinic - Join our Rapids Fall Soccer Camps for a day of soccer and fun! October 13 - view flyer here Denver Health appointments available. The Denver Health Mobile Clinic will be at the NW Community Hub @ Trevista. Appointments are available on Wednesday, October 1 for Denver residents. Click here to make an appointment. Please consider filling out a Free and Reduced Lunch Application - In 2022, voters approved Proposition FF creating the Healthy School Meals for All program to provide all Colorado students free breakfast and lunch. While the program is successful, families are still encouraged to complete a Free & Reduced Price Meal application to help qualify districts for additional funding and potentially secure other benefits for their students. Because participation has exceeded expectations, the program is facing a funding shortfall, leading state lawmakers to refer ballot questions to voters in November 2025 to secure more funding. If the measures don’t pass, cost-cutting measures would likely mean not all schools would get money to pay for free lunches for all. We strongly encourage all families to apply for free and reduced lunch to be prepared in case the state-wide free lunch program does not continue in its current form.
Eagle Run - We would like to thank all the volunteers and staff that helped make Eagle Run a success. We are still taking donations - our goal is $85,000 ($180 per kid) and we are currently at $51,000 Edison PTA Book Club - The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt - The Edison PTA will be hosting a book club for the Edison community this fall. We will be reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. Save the date for the book discussion on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 8:45-10:00 a.m. in the Edison auditorium. Families are welcome to stay for as long or as little as your schedule allows. There is no expectation that you have finished the book to participate. Happy reading! Please RSVP. Fall Festival - The PTA needs a few awesome volunteers to help pre-sell Fall Festival tickets before and after school. It’s a quick and fun way to support our teachers—all proceeds go directly to their classroom accounts!
