My name is Lisa Meeks and I was asked by Edison administration to participate in the NW Working Group which is charged with giving recommendations to the DPS board regarding an upcoming DPS board vote regarding the redrawing of the boundaries because of the closure of Trevista Middle School and the issue of placing a Montessori Jr/Sr High school into an elementary school building in Sunnyside. I am charged by the NW Working Group to provide information back to Edison families. It is in this capacity that I am posting this to the Edison website.
The DPS board is currently weighing issues regarding middle schools in NW Denver. In my opinion the decisions they make will impact all children in NW Denver including students at Edison as they move up through DPS schools. You as parents need to be aware of the process and the options being presented. Please come to a meeting this evening at Trevista at Horace Mann so that you will be informed and able to voice your opinion. All the information is in the attached flyer.
