Edison’s Penny Harvest – A Great Success!

In November and December 2015, Edison’s students participated in a Penny Harvest. Edison’s Good Citizens Club organizes the community service event in which students bring pennies from parents, friends and neighbors to school to donate to non-profit organizations the students decide upon. This year, students raised 49 sacks of pennies which equals $2467.22. Students now have the difficult job to decide where they will donate the money to.

The principal and AP had promised to dress up and surprise the students if they raised more than 20 bags of pennies. As promised, the principal, Sally Whitelock, and Assistant Principal, Joan Wieser, dressed up like clowns on January 8 and did magic tricks for the students. It was a fun event! We are so very proud of our community minded students at Edison!
