Back to School Open House
Please join us at Edison’s Back-to-School Open House on August 15 any time between 3:30 and 5:30 PM. Meet the teacher, see the classroom, drop off school supplies. While you are at Edison, grab a treat from the school leadership and specials team!

2024-25 Registration
All families are required to complete registration annually prior to the beginning of the school year. Families can complete the registration online. If you have not completed this yet, please do so ASAP. You must have a Parent Portal account to register online.
Once in Parent Portal, follow these steps for OLR:
Click on See All Apps
Click on Online Registration (or OLR) – this will take you to Infinite Campus
Click on More… on the left side
Click on OLR again.

** If you need to open a Parent Portal account so you can do online registration, as well as have access to other important information about your student, go to myportal.dpsk12.org and click on ‘Create an Account’. You will need your student’s DPS ID# to start your account. You can call Edison’s office at 720-424-7780 or email Michelle Miller in the office at michelle_miller@dpsk12.org, or Barbara Schrant at maria_schrant@dpsk12.org, to get your student’s ID#.
** If you forgot your Parent Portal password click on the forgot password link.
** If you have any other trouble logging in (you must log in at least once every six months to keep your account active), you can ask for help by emailing portalteam@dpsk12.org or calling the portal hotline at 720.423.3163. Only caregivers in the primary household can do registration.

** If your address has changed please bring a new proof of address (current Xcel or water bill or lease or mortgage statement), you can also upload this with online registration.
** If your child has had additional immunizations please bring an updated record.

Please know that families may now see their students’ teacher assignments for the upcoming school year through Parent Portal, however, these assignments may change prior to the first day of school based on registration information and class sizes.

Free Breakfast and Lunch Program – Application REQUIRED for all families
The School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program are federally-assisted meal programs. It provides a nutritionally balanced, free lunch & breakfast to children each school day. Children who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals may also qualify for other fee waivers and additional school funding. ALL families, please complete the “You Benefit” form: https://foodservices.dpsk12.org/o/foodservices/page/meal-benefits. (scroll down to submit application)
Families may choose to opt-in or opt-out,
Parents must check the box giving consent to disclose the status of their student(s) to other programs if they need fee waivers.

Meal Prices
We are pleased to announce ALL DPS students are welcome each day to have 1 FREE (no charge) breakfast and lunch. We are also pleased to say all schools in DPS will provide unlimited access to the Fruit & Vegetable Bar. Food service employees will encourage students to go back to the Fruit & Vegetable bar if they are still hungry at no extra charge. Students may purchase a second meal as well if they would like Elementary $4.00.. Students must have money on hand or money in their account. Money can be applied to students’ accounts using the myschoolbucks.com link.

Kindergarten Assessment & Meet the Teacher Day
All kindergarten students will need to sign up for an individual assessment which will take place on August 19. After receiving your student’s teacher’s name on the Parent Portal in July/August, please sign up for an assessment/meet the teacher appointment at the appropriate sign up genius at:

Planning for the 2024-25 school year
As you begin to plan for the 2024-25 school year, we hope that you will prioritize school attendance. We know that students who have good attendance are much more likely to develop a positive self-concept about school and good work habits, as well as being more likely to be at/above grade level academically. Please support your students and the staff at Edison by planning your vacations when we do not have school.

After school Enrichment at Edison
Welcome to the 2024-2025 Edison Enrichment Program! My name is Valerie Lovato and I am the Coordinator for the Enrichment Program. I am excited to begin a new year and welcome your students into our after school programming. I hope to have a variety of classes that many kids will enjoy. This year I am going to split the Enrichment season into 3 trimesters that each last 8 weeks long (with a make up week for weather or emergencies). I have included all the dates for the year including no class dates, please mark your calendars for the whole year now. You will have 2 weeks to register for classes before each session begins. Here is the link to the Family Enrichment Handbook please read it carefully and be sure to follow all procedures and guidelines. And again, mark all enrichment dates in your calendar now. Discovery Link Before and After School Care
Discovery Link is the only district-run before school, after school, and full-day camp program. Licensed by the state of Colorado, we offer Discovery Link at 60 elementary schools, including Edison. Students participate in fun and engaging activities supporting relationship-building skills, movement, and creativity. ** Edgewater Parks and Recreation is offering low-cost youth programs. Click on Toddler Programs and/or Youth Sports & Programs. Under those sections you will choose Kid Play Time and register your child. http://playedgewater.com/ Volleyball starts August 21.
** Highlands Micro School’s After School Program has some spots available in their Kinder – 5th grade Tuesday Coding Class! *** Way to Go Schoolpool Registration – Join Edison’s Schoolpool program to connect with other families to carpool, walk or bike to school together. Looking for help getting your student to and from school or want to find them a buddy to commute to school with? We are pleased to partner with Schoolpool, a free program to make it easier to get to school. Signing up is simple! 1. Go to https://mywaytogo.org/#/ and create an account and enter your address or intersection. 2. Add comments to indicate interest. 3. Find and contact interested families. Privacy and security: Edison and Schoolpool do not run background checks, confirm valid driver’s licenses, or assess insurance coverage on participants. Potential users are advised to screen participants to their personal satisfaction and check their own insurance coverage for carpooling to ensure that they are covered under these voluntary arrangements. Schoolpool does not provide drivers, vehicles, or insurance.
