Earth Day Parade

Please join us for Edison’s annual Earth day parade on April 22 at 8:15-8:30 AM on Edison’s front lawn. Students, teachers and caregivers will walk around the school and clean up our small part of the earth prior to school starting. Students are welcome (and encouraged) to create a hat out of recycled materials and wear it to school today!

Lost and Found

Please check the lost and found and grab any of your child’s missing items as there is A LOT there. The lost and found is located in the cafeteria and will be placed outside the cafeteria doors every Friday. We will donate all clothing not picked up on May 10.

Order School Supply for the 24-25 school year

Did you know that you can order school supplies from the PTA now and be all prepared for the 2024-25 school year? If you order online, through the PTA:
– the teacher gets the exact supplies they want,
– the teachers have time to organize the supplies before the students arrive,
– there are fewer issues in the classroom since the students will have all the same supplies,
– and you don’t have to do ANYTHING past clicking a few buttons!

The supplies will be shipped directly to Edison the week before school starts.  Volunteers will deliver your students’ supply pack directly to their teacher!  Edison makes about $3 a pack, which is not a lot, but it helps contribute to the PTA Fund. And yes, the supply list has been double-checked! To order supplies:
– Edisons Code: EDI023 (3 letters/3 numbers)

Plastic Film Recycling at Edison

Are you are looking for a way to teach your family about the impacts of plastic waste and the benefits of recycling? Or are you looking for a good way to reuse or recycle Plastic Film (https://www.ridwell.com/pickup-categories/pOY6Pd6E )? Ridwell has already saved 15 million pounds of waste from going to landfills, and now your family can be a part of the movement too.
– Please join the Edison Plastic Film recycling drive through May 13th. To get started, start saving your plastic film and bring it to Edison’s collection box located in the hallway outside of the Edison main office.
– You can use this link: get.ridwell.com/Edison to help you sign up for Ridwell services at your home, if you’re interested. If 10 Edison families sign up using this URL before May 31st, Edison will be able to use Ridwell services for the 2024-25 school year! You and your family can also “Get to know Ridwell” with this Lesson Link (https://www.teamkindhumans.com/ridwell ) using the code RIDWELL for free access.

Support Edison:

Some families are in a position to support their child’s learning at home, others can support through volunteering time, and some through financial donation. To give a sense of scope, if each Edison family were to donate $500 per student per year, Edison could fund all of our fundraising initiatives.

Edison’s next fundraising event:
* EdFest: Edison’s yearly adult-only fundraiser, auction, and party raises money for the PTA General Fund to pay for online educational subscriptions, enrichment day, field trip transportation, Edison t-shirts for new students, community events, after school tutoring, enrichment scholarships and much more!

Additional ways to give money to Edison’s PTA:
* Direct Ask Campaign: You may always make a one-time or set up a regular donation through PayPal, Venmo, Square, or a check. Check to see if your employer provides matching of qualified contributions made; Edison’s PTA is a qualified 501c3 organization! Monies raised through the Direct Ask Campaign are the easiest and most direct ways to support student learning for all learners.
