One of the most wonderful things about Edison is our wonderful community and “neighborhood school feel.” Therefore, I would like to challenge every parent to volunteer at least one time this year at Edison or for an Edison event.
PTA Meeting: We need your support!! Though our PTA membership has increased this year, we want and need more parents supporting the PTA with decision making, fundraising and volunteering. Please join us at the PTA meeting on January 15 at Zooks Coffee and Ice Cream at 6 PM.
School Choice: It is time to make decisions about what school you want your child to attend next year. Most students currently attending Edison will automatically be projected to Edison next year, however, some students must submit an application to secure a place at the school of their choice. The following students must submit a choice application by January 31: All ECE students, All Advanced Kindergarten students, All 5th grade students, Anyone who came to Edison this year on an Administrative Transfer, Anyone who moved to an address outside of Edison’s attendance area this year, Anyone tranferring to a different school, Anyone new to Edison for the 2014-15 school year. If you have questions, please come talk with Edison’s secretaries.
Rock the Night Away Family Dance: Mark your calendars…February 7 at 6:00 PM…for our annual Family Dance. The entrance fee will be $1 per person. We will have a DJ in the auditorium for dancing with parents and friends. All students must attend with and be supervised by a parent. While you are here, please check out (and bid on) one of the VERY FUN Teacher Treasures which is a fundraiser for our PTA.
