Edison Community Cleanup Day Is Sept. 17!

What are you doing this Saturday?

If the answer is “helping clean up the grounds at my child’s school,” then ding-ding-ding, you win the prize! And that prize is: free breakfast!

That’s right, on Saturday Sept. 17 starting at 9am you can join local volunteers from Edison Elementary and the Edison PTA, the Edison Green Team, the Edison Community Garden, and other generous folks to help out with a thorough and much-needed yard cleaning.

We will pick weeds, clean goat heads off the baseball diamond, rake the playgrounds, trim the bushes, and pick more weeds. And hang out and have a good time, too.

No experience is necessary, and you don’t have to bring any tools or equipment, because the DPS tool truck will be there with all sorts of tools, including gloves. We just need manual laborers. Oh, and kids are welcome!

And that business about breakfast, you ask? Our generous refreshment donors include Santiago’s (breakfast burritos) and Happy Leaf Kombucha (kombucha as well as some volunteers).

Is there more? Only one way to find out, isn’t there?

Please sign up using this Sign Up Genius page if you can – or feel free to just show up after you roll out of bed (we understand). Yes, kids are welcome – they can help with the cleanup, take a tour of the community garden, or just play on the playground (with volunteers watching them).

The festivities start Sat. Sept. 17 at 9am and run to about 1pm, and we’d love to see you for however long you’re able to stay. Thanks!
