The new “Munch”room

Our Fuel Up to Play 60 cafeteria remodel, sponsored by Leprino Foods, occurred on Saturday, March 14.Appropriately named the Edison “Munchroom” by Green Team kids, Edison’s cafeteria now sports our blue and gold school colors, two inspirational murals designed by our very own Robin Segura and Angela Alexander, a compost/recycle counter, and a student celebration booth. Additionally, our gym was also painted in bright blue and gold and a Wii dance system will be installed to add another exercise resource for physical education class and indoor recess days.

We give utmost thanks to the Western Dairy Association, Fuel Up to Play 60, and Leprino Foodsfor providing food, volunteers, and the $15,000 grant. Parents and kids from both from Green Team and school came together to create lively walls, filled with happiness and healthy habits. Funds will also be used for nutritional education and opportunities to promote physical activity. The Grand Opening of the Munchroom will be held Friday, April 17th, at 3:45pm, kicking off our annual Eco-Health Fair. Join representatives from Western Dairy Association, Leprino Foods, Fuel Up to Play 60, and a very special guest! Stick around for booth and demos, a sample plate from our cafeteria’s made-from-scratch cooking, and more!Final touch ups will be done after school on Wednesday March 25th and Thursday March 26th, from 3:45-7:30pm.
