Dear Families of Edison:

Welcome to Edison Elementary! All of us at Edison are anticipating another exciting year.

Joining the Edison Team this year are:

Registration

Enclosed are Verification forms for returning students.  Please complete the form and circle any changes that have been made. This will ensure all changes will be updated in our IC.  Please sign and date all pages and return to the main office at Edison on August 10th, 11th, and 12th. There will be a Verification box in the main hall for you to drop off your Verification forms. Please let us know if your child will not be returning to Edison.

School of Choice (SOC) students who have been accepted into Edison for 09-10 school year and did receive a letter from the SOC office will need to come in for a new registration packet to be completed on August 10th, 11th, and 12th between the hours of 9am to 11am and 1pm to 3pm. Birth Certificate, immunization record and proof of address (Excel Energy bill) must be brought at the time of registration to complete the process. Also, any other new students to Edison may register on August 10th through the 12th from 9am to 11am and 1pm to 3pm.

Back To School Night

Students will have an opportunity to meet their new teacher during Back to School Night Tuesday, August 18th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

School Supplies

An updated school supply list can be obtained on our school website.

First Day of School

School hours effective 08-19-09:
8:45am to 3:30pm for all ECE through 5th Grade students. Half-day ECE is 12:50pm to 3:30pm and half-day Kindergarten is 8:45am to 11:40am.
Just a reminder for our Kindergarten parents:
Thursday, August 20, is the first full day of school for full day Kindergarten.
Friday, August 21, is the first day of school for half-day Kindergarten.

Attendance and Tardiness

When absences or tardiness occurs, parents should notify the school office by calling the Edison attendance number 720/424-7784 by 9:00am.

Lunches

School lunches will cost $1.40 per day. We use a computerized system to facilitate meal purchases. Please send your check for school meals to Dawn Cordova, Cafeteria Manager. All checks should be made out to Edison Elementary. You can manage your child's lunch account using myLunchMoney.com. Children may bring a cold lunch and purchase a carton of milk if they desire. Please refer to the information that was sent over the summer regarding free and reduced lunch qualifications.

Early Release Days

October 16; December 9; January 19; February 11 and April 19.
