Family-Teacher Conferences

Please sign up for a VIRTUAL family-teacher conference on either October 13 & 14, between 3:45 and 7:45 PM. This is a great time to find out how your child(ren) is doing in school, celebrate success and set academic and/or work habit goals for your child. We strongly believe that teachers and parents must work together, as a team, to ensure the educational success of children. We value these opportunities to collaborate with you and are looking forward to our one-on-one conferences. Please watch for sign up forms coming from your child’s teacher.

BESS Universal Social-Emotional screener

As part of our effort to support the Whole Child, Denver Public School District is implementing a universal social and emotional screening for students. Universal social and emotional screening can provide a fair and impartial way of looking at how students are progressing in their social and emotional development. Screenings can also help identify areas where school personnel can improve or adjust our supports.

Edison’s  3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will complete a short (10 minute), on-line survey during the administration window of October 13th and October 20th. Your child will bring home a permission slip on Friday.  Please return this permission slip if you DO NOT want your child to participate, by OCTOBER 13th. The permission slip provides additional information, however, should you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email at terasia_olsen@dpsk12.org.

Thank you! Terasia Olsen, School Psychologist

Eagle Run and Direct Ask fundraiser

Our annual Eagle Run was a huge success and SO MUCH FUN!  This year the Eagle Run is raising money to grant to the school for paras (assistants to 1-5th grade teachers) for next year.  Our goal is to raise $80,000! If each student donated $150 we would reach our goal, but every dollar counts no matter the size!  Help us continue supporting our students and teachers at Edison for next year.

To be eligible for prizes, please return the sponsor sheet and donations by October 11.

Bathroom Problems at Edison

The boys bathrooms at Edison are being vandalized during the school day. Boys are throwing wet paper towels on the walls/ceiling, putting soap and water on the floor, and urinating all over. This is a health and safety concern. Students were spoken to this week by the principal and AP and bathroom usage is now limited for 4th and 5th grade students. Please support us by talking to your children about being community minded and appropriate behavior. If students are caught participating in inappropriate bathroom behavior, there will be significant consequences. Thank you for your support.

Not sure what is for dinner?? Let the PTA help!!

Join us at Crock Spot on Thursday, October 21st from 4-8 and 10% of all sales (dine in or take out) will be donated back to Edison!

Crock Spot – 4045 Pecos St, Denver

Free and Reduced Lunch

If you need/benefit from free or reduced lunch, please complete the application as soon as possible. This ensures that Edison can provide these lunches to students, as well as gives Edison. additional financial resources. Thank you.
