Join the Edison Bike Brigade!
The North High Homecoming Parade is happening this Friday, 9/26. Join us. Wear your stylish Edison Spirit Shirt!!!!
Come represent Edison in a Bike Brigade as you participate in the North High School Homecoming parade Friday afternoon. All parents and students are welcome to ride their bike, scooters, pull their bike trailers, tag a long bikes, wagons and strollers and ride the .8 distance from 32nd and Perry to North High School.
Meet at 32nd and Perry between 3:45 and 4:00 to participate.
The theme is Super Heros. Dress like your favorite Super Hero or wear the school colors of Blue, Gold, and White or don your Edison T-shirt!
Decorate your bike, scooter, wagon and or stroller with streamers, tassels, or anything that is fun and decorative. Blue, White and Gold Streamers will be available at 3:00 on Friday to decorate the bike.
Parent volunteers are needed to carry the Edison School Banner sign in front of our school group. Switch off during the parade, as well as to bike on the perimeter of the group, to keep kids safe, moving along and provide encouragement as needed.
All children must wear a helmet and able to ride the entire distance of .8 and be accompanied by an adult. Parade will last about 60 minutes.
All Wagons and Strollers will be positioned in the rear.
1 Child volunteer needed (1st grader) to be the Edison Eagle Mascot! Edison will provide the Eagle costume.
Upon arrival at North High School, there will be a chili cook off ( samples only), concession stand starting at 5:00 with the Bonfire approximately at 7:00.
If you stay for the festivities at North High, there are a few bike racks but bikes can be locked along the chain link fence too.
Due to the distance and time, leaving a car at North High school has been suggested so you don’t have to bike back.
